Winter sucks
It’s not been fun. I already have a natural aversion to winter as being half-Aussie, so being stuck in the house with bitter temps does not help. It’s made me become behind on things due to dealing with issues related to the bad weather. I’m working towards getting a new beta reader, but I probably won’t be able to deal with that situation for another week. Hopefully, at least next month I’ll have a cover to share at least.
Today is Library selfie day, so here’s a small picture of my vast collection to enjoy. Yes, I have paperback editions as well as hardcover copies of the Inheritance cycle, I don’t want to carry the heavy hardbacks around plus two of them are 1st editions. (The Murtagh one is a signed one to boot).

TBR pile read-through reviews
Noblesse by Jeho Son & Kwangsu Lee

(Book cover sourced from Amazon)
I stumbled across this Manhwa (Korean comic) at Goodwill. I just grabbed it automatically and glad I did. Now my best friend says we talked about this series at some point, but I truly cannot remember us doing so. So yeah.
Noblesse is about a class of mythical creatures that are akin to vampires. They are not called vampires, but nobles. A race of immortals with powers (somewhat like a combination almost of vampires and Soul Reapers from Bleach). It was originally published on Webtoon Unscrolled.
The main character, Cadis Etrama Di Taizel (simply called Rai), is the head of all Nobles. He awakens from a coffin (hence why brain went straight to vampire), to find himself in modern times and, after a series of events that are rather comical in a roundabout way, he ends up as a student at a private school. The head of the school?
Frankenstein.
Yeah, that guy. Shelly’s mad scientist. I did a double take when the famous literary character showed up. He’s a school principal in South Korea; it’s deeply entertaining.
I don’t want to spoil too much, but it’s a cool ride. It has some familiar shonen tropes. I love the one human character, the student Han Shinwoo. He’s a redhead with a courageous personality that I just adore. He was the first to meet Rai after he woke up.
Again, I don’t want to spoil too much, but I already enjoy the interesting mythical creatures and the culture, along with the character’s personalities. I can’t wait to pick up the other two volumes. As I wrote this, I discovered the anime, so I’ll be watching that at some point. It’s only 13 episodes.
This is the first Korean comic I’ve ever read, and I enjoyed it. Hope to find more, but for now, have to work on the TBR pile! I am now working on a Sherlock Holmes novel that focuses on his brother, Mycroft. I love my Holmes boys, so here’s hoping it’s a good read.
That’s all for now.
Lots of Love,
