Hello everyone,
So, to follow up on some of what I talked about in the Facebook post:
I developed health issues related to tick bites. I’m currently taking medicine (and it’s heck to take) so hopefully I’ll be over all this soon.
I am doing the Oil Region Festival of the Book. Did not think I was, but at the last minute I guess I am!
I will also be doing Petfest and Applefest (pray the construction work doesn’t mess everything up).
- Festival of the Book: Oil City, PA. August 29th, 2026. 10am – 2 pm
- Petfest by Precious Paws Animal Rescue: Band stand park, Franklin, PA. Sept. 12th, 2026. 10 am-4pm.
- Applefest, PA: Franklin, PA, located in front of the Franklin Library, 12th street. 10 am- 4pm.

I am very much a law-abiding person. But I must admit, the phrase “If buying isn’t owning, then piracy isn’t stealing.” is really hitting hard.
For those who don’t know, PlayStation announced they will stop making physical games. They blindsided not only gamers but some of the gaming companies. Just before this, they took off 500 movies people paid for just because the licence agreement they had with the production company ended. The sweet irony to add to this is that the digital storefront and system broke down the other week, proving that physical copies are better.
Of course, they are doing this to make as much money as possible and kill a market they can’t bank on (the used market).
I had thought to save up to get a PlayStation 4 or 5, but I never did as Pokemon is more important to me, and Nintendo has more games that I prefer than PlayStation. I still just have my PS2 in which my friend gave me when he got his PS3.
Physical is so important. The internet proves repeatedly how unreliable it is, and even when you have backups, they can fail, like when a stupid, worthless Mircoslop update deletes most of your music library. eye twitch
This is bad, for this will affect markets outside of gaming. They have started to phase out Blu-rays and DVDs from the stores, and it’s harder to find new releases.
They want to bleed all the money out of us. Buy physical as you can, because they will steal things away from you despite the button saying “buy”. Sony buying Funimation showed that. So many anime digital purchases lost, and nothing to make up for it. Nothing. They don’t care.
Nintendo is the last man standing, and even that is shaky ground, as all the Pokemon games I’ve bought required updates as soon as I stuck the card in. They have grown lazy.
I get some people don’t have room, but if you can, buy, for very soon, we will own nothing, and the big companies will lord it over us. I am very serious when I say, if Pokemon stops having a physical game for the mainline, I will probably walk away. For me to say that…yeah.
I will step off my soapbox now, but I implore fellow gamers: don’t buy digital if you don’t have to, because that’s the only way you will keep your games and not waste money.
